What the archive is allowed to tell us
Archived pages show which subjects the former site covered and which paths attracted links or rankings. That evidence decides whether a route should return as a real page. It does not make the old prose, photographs or care recommendations safe to reuse.
Every launch guide is therefore written again. Historical URLs are retained where they carry meaningful evidence, including awkward spellings. Readers see a clear title; the address remains stable for the sources and bookmarks that already point there.
How factual claims are handled
Care-critical statements need a current source that can be named and opened. Preference goes to government agencies, recognised zoological institutions, veterinary references, conservation bodies and peer-reviewed literature. A source link is not decorative: it defines what the page is prepared to claim.

- General information is not presented as diagnosis or treatment for an individual animal.
Experience and product claims
Tropical Hobbies does not invent hands-on testing, ownership history, expert biographies or long-term observations. If a product has only been compared through published specifications, that research method must be stated. Affiliate links may be added later, but they do not turn a researched comparison into a physical test.
Corrections and limits
A launch page is a documented research pass, not a claim of permanent completeness. Taxonomy, welfare standards, equipment and legal requirements change. Pages show their review date and should be checked again before a consequential decision.
Where a conclusion depends on local law, the individual animal or conditions that cannot be observed remotely, the guide names that boundary and points the reader toward the authority or professional who can resolve it.
